Rainbow Plaza is strategically located at the northern gateway of Whistler
on the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99), just 4.5 kilometres north of
Whistler’s town centre. This new commercial/residential development
will be anchored by a 15,500 SF Loblaw store, Chevron gas station, a
liquor store and Pikolo Espresso Bar. The development will also add 65
apartment-style condos to the new Rainbow neighborhood. Development
on the Rainbow neighbourhood began in 2008 and today consists of a

residents with capacity for 30,000 overnight visitors. The average daily
population in Whistler is currently estimated at approximately 31,000
people running up to 70,000 people during peak times. The current
annual tourist visitations total approximately 2.1 million visitors, and
is expected to increase by 400,000 upon completion of the Whistler
Blackcomb Renaissance project. The project will include brand new yearround
attractions, as well as mountain improvements.
