Constructed in 1913, the Lotus Hotel is a six-storey building of concrete and steel construction with full basement. This mixed-use retail and multi-family property was substantially upgraded in 2001 with new plumbing and electrical, a partial seismic upgrade, sprinklers, a new roof and fire protection system, as well as, an upgraded elevator. In 2009 over $400,000 was spent repointing the brick façade and resealing windows. Recently, $330,000 was spent upgrading the City areaway and sidewalk while an additional $231,000 was spent renovating residential suites. The main floor and basement have been leased to a single 12,000 SF retail tenant operating as The Pint Public House. The Pint is Vancouver’s premier and most successful sports venue with full kitchen facilities, which later evolves into a highly sought after bar scene. The upper floors feature 110 bachelor suites, which are self-contained with kitchenettes(fridge, stove, sink) and three-piece bathrooms.
